Self-Introduction: Krista Breiteneder

Hello! My name is Krista and I've just completed my third year of Social and Cultural Anthropology at U of C. I definitely had a bit of a journey through a couple of majors but I couldn't be happier with where I ended up! I also chose a minor in East Asian Studies due to longstanding interest and I have been really enjoying that as well. I was born in Calgary and spent the majority of my life here and I am very much looking forward to putting down some roots somewhere new after I have graduated.



Ideally post-grad I would like to work in the field as an anthropologist. I have a particular interest in the influence of pop culture and the relationships between people and technology, and I am also very interested in religion and spirituality and how they affect individuals and cultures.

As for my hobbies outside of school, I love to read more than just about anything. I have a particular interest in mythology, fairy tales, and folklore. I used to write a lot in high school as well and I'm trying to get back into the habit of it. I also love flowers, sheet masks, and I’m pretty sure I'm 75% tea.
