Hakodate Morning Market Experience

Today we went to Hakodate Asaichi, the morning market in Hakodate, to have a (literal) live experience of the seafood here in the city. We tried a live squid that one of our members caught herself! It was a very interesting experience, to say the least, and the food was delicious. We also took the time to try sea urchin and scallop from another vendor. All the seafood was extremely fresh.

For lunch, we went to a rice bowl place and each of us chose a different kind to eat.

These are some of the donburi that we got to eat today! Everything was amazingly fresh and delicious. This was only at one shop. In reality, there are at least six or seven donburi places to choose from in one building. We walked by each one and ended up picking this place in the end. For anyone thinking of coming to Hakodate, the morning market is definitely an interesting place to visit. Would recommend.
